From October 31 to November 2, the Mexico City Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) deployed a special traffic surveillance device in various boroughs of the capital for the event called 'Mega Rodada del Terror 2025'. As a result of these actions, a total of 50 motorcycles were sent to vehicle depots for traffic regulation violations. According to the official communiqué, the operations corresponded to the Traffic Control Subsecretariat, in coordination with the operators of the Command and Control Centers (C2) of the five city zones. The SSC detailed that resources were deployed at strategic points such as Glorieta Cabeza de Juárez (Iztapalapa borough), Paseo de la Reforma avenue, Glorieta del Ahuehuete, Glorieta del Amajac, Hidalgo avenue (Cuauhtémoc borough), and Río Consulado avenue (Venustiano Carranza borough). 'During the prevention actions, the police… were in charge of ensuring that the attendees of the rides complied with the safety measures, in order to avoid accidents, disturbances to public order, as well as the commission of crimes,' the SSC communiqué cites. In this regard, the drivers of the impounded vehicles were caught performing risky maneuvers, acrobatics, riding without a helmet, transporting minors, or carrying more than two people, among other violations. Furthermore, the official communiqué adds that the police maintained the operational deployments until the end of the activities, and included closures to circulation on the roads and avenues where the event attendees traveled. 'The deployments were implemented in key points of the city… also on Río Consulado avenue…,' it details. In total, 350 elements of the Traffic Control Subsecretariat participated in the surveillance operations. According to the SSC, the operation aimed to prevent both the commission of crimes and damage to the physical integrity of the participants, drivers, and pedestrians.
